Dr. Lucene Wisniewski, Ph.D., FAEDThe U.S Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board have conferred a Fulbright Specialist Program Award on Lucene Wisniewski, PhD., FAED, founder and Chief Clinical Officer of the Center for Evidence Based Treatment (CEBT).

The Fulbright Specialist Program was established in 2001 by the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to pair highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions from more than 150 countries to share expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.

Specialists work on closed-ended engagements ranging from two to six weeks, and are then encouraged to continue working with host institutions in the years following their initial exchange, creating opportunities for ongoing cooperation and consultancies.

Specialists are competitively selected from a wide range of disciplines based on their knowledge and ability to make a significant contribution to projects overseas.

Selected for her outstanding academic and professional achievements as well as her demonstrated leadership in the field of treating eating disorders, Dr. Wisniewski will share her expertise with Comenzar de Nuevo AC,  a non-profit institution in Monterrey, Mexico, whose focus is on the treatment, education, prevention, and research of eating disorders (TCA) and related diseases.

The Specialist Program is part of the larger Fulbright Program, which has given more than 400,000 students, scholars, teachers, artists, and scientists the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research, exchange ideas, and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. Fulbright alumni have achieved distinction in many fields, including 60 who have been awarded the Nobel Prize, 88 who have received Pulitzer Prizes, and 39 who have served as a head of state or government.
