Post-Doctoral Fellowship

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2025-2027 fellowship position.
Please check back in Fall 2025 when we will have updated information on our 2026-2028 position

Each fall, Center for Evidence Based Treatment (CEBT) offers one or more post-doctoral psychology fellowships for candidates who are passionate about delivering evidence-based treatments while working in an environment that emphasizes training and collegial support.

CEBT is a treatment clinic that provides evidence-based therapy, supervision and training for a range of psychological concerns. Our practice is physically located in Cleveland, OH, and we serve clients both in-person and remotely throughout the state of Ohio, and other states where our staff are licensed.

Cleveland residence is NOT required for fellows. While this is a fellowship that prepares for OH licensure and involves practice with OH-located clients, we welcome applicants who would complete the fellowship locally or remotely, within or outside of the state, pending approval from your jurisdiction’s licensing board.

We treat a wide range of psychological conditions (e.g., anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma/stressor disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders) utilizing evidence-based treatments, primarily within a cognitive-behavioral orientation. We offer comprehensive DBT programming (individual therapy, skills group and phone coaching) for adults and adolescents/families, along with a DBT consultation team. We specialize in the treatment of complex/co-morbid eating disorders with DBT and our practice is led by a clinician/researcher (Dr. Wisniewski) who has spearheaded this treatment approach.

CEBT’s postdoctoral fellowship spans two years. It provides thoughtful, planned, and sequential training experiences aimed at promoting the growth and skills needed for preparing psychologists-in-training for entry-level independent practice and licensure. Training at CEBT provides a unique opportunity in a group practice setting to not only be trained in evidence-based transdiagnostic care, but also specialize in diagnosis-specific treatment approaches and modalities. Supervisory staff operate from a developmental approach to supervision and continually monitor the progress of each fellow throughout the fellowship.

CEBT’s postdoctoral fellowship is designed to meet the requirements for post-internship training in Ohio.

Practicum/Internship

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2025-2026 practicum/internship position. Please check back in January 2026 when we will have updated information on our 2026-2027 position

CEBT offers a 1-year Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) placement for graduate-level students in psychology, counseling or social work. In this placement, trainees provide comprehensive DBT (individual therapy, skills group training and phone coaching) to adults and adolescents/families. Additional clinical opportunities, such as assisting with intake assessments, are also generally available.

Trainees receive 1 hour of weekly individual supervision from a licensed clinician of their discipline, and 2 hours of weekly group supervision with our staff DBT consultation team. Trainees also attend regular didactic seminars on DBT, as well as other topics relevant to evidence-based practice.

This placement is designed to be completed in a hybrid remote/in-person fashion. Our physical office is located in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Placements begin in the fall semester and formally conclude at the end of the summer. Placements are unpaid; however, we seek to transition trainees into paid staff positions following the end of placement, including the summer months.

We accept applications and conduct interviews beginning in February of each year and aim to extend offers by mid-March.

For more detailed information about our program, please see the Practicum/Internship Training Manual.
