Do you struggle with social anxiety? Panic attacks? Generalized anxiety? Depressed mood? Intrusive thoughts and compulsions? Impulsivity? Other emotional difficulties?
If you’ve experienced any of the above, this group is for you. The Unified Protocol (UP) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help clients manage strong emotions, which occur across many types of mental health concerns.
The treatment is cognitive behavioral, goal directed, present-day focused, and time-limited. The Unified Protocol has been shown to reduce symptoms of emotional disorders significantly.
How it works
- This group is for adults who live in Ohio.
- An initial assessment with an experienced licensed therapist will take place before referral to the group.
- Every group member will need their own UP workbook.
- Each week’s meeting will be accompanied by readings and practice assignments.
- Sessions will include homework review and skill training.
- Group members will benefit from understanding and encouraging progress in each other.
- This group is intended as stand-alone treatment and does not require concurrent individual therapy. However, participants who are currently in individual therapy may benefit as well; the concrete skills taught have been shown to bolster individual therapy results.
- Recommendations may be made for accompanying individual therapy, if warranted.
