Online group counseling for LGBTQIA+ teens

CEBTOhio is pleased to offer Youth AFFIRM, a therapeutic group based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help LGBTQIA+ teens learn coping skills to manage stress and improve their wellbeing.

Youth AFFIRM meets in a one-hour weekly session over eight weeks to help participants manage stress, support their mental health, enhance coping skills and provide supportive individual validation.

As a form of evidence-based therapy, Youth AFFIRM is able to report on its impact over time, with these results:

  • 70% of participants reported increased “hope pathway thinking” – the ability to generate multiple routes from the present to a desired future.
  • 63% reported reduced depression.
  • 72% reported increased ability to view stressful situations as challenges rather than threats.
